Hi there, friends of i58!
This is the time of year when we get a lot of interest in our website, mainly from young people who are praying about which Capernwray Bible School to attend. As music plays such an enormous part of young peoples lives today, I thought I would share some things about the amazing opportunities we offer here AND invite students, former students and community members to share their comments about the influence that the music ministry has had on their lives.
First up, I have to own up that I am the Music Director! I’ve held this post for over 9 years now. I graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, and was trained to lead worship in London, Hong Kong and here in Australia.
The combination of my love of music and Jesus along with talented musicians who come through our doors has been remarkable. I especially love to build up the Worship Leaders both musically and spiritually. They gain heaps of experience here so their growth in this area is huge.
We have a great selection of instruments (Fender/Marshall amps, Gretch, Maton and Les Paul guitars, Roland keyboard and a drum kit with hand hammered cymbals!). The supporting sound system works great too!
I also work closely with anyone who is gifted in song writing. Many of my songs have been published and produced by Kingsway Music, UK, and are used in churches throughout Australia.
