Hi there, friends of i58!
Today is an exciting day for us. After weeks of preparation the whole school, which is divided into three Prac Week teams is leaving for their destination. Each PW offers different ministry opportunities for our students.
The team going to Nowra will be focusing mainly on Scripture in schools although I am told their week is quite diverse with trips into Homes for the elderly and they are also holding two 100 minute seminars for kids.
The team going Port MacQuarie will be working with a small church, running their services and being part of their community. Through the church they will be doing Kids’ Clubs, Scripture in schools and visiting various members of the church.
The other team will be working with the Salvation Army both in Sydney and Moree, their aim is to serve the poor. In Sydney they will be involved with street people and in Moree their focus will be reaching out to the indigenous community.
Our goal at Capernwray Torchbearers Australia is to build up the students so that we may be able to send them out to put all that they have learnt into practice. This is the time where most growth occurs. God is so good.
Therefore, there will be no posts while we are away, but we will have something special for you when we return week beginning 5th June. Until then, God bless.
